Let's Talk Bravery In Communications!

"Exploring Bravery in Communication" is the topic for our next Tabao Time on Wednesday 28th August 2024 at 12:30pm online.

Communications often comes with a dose of trepidation. Is the email good to go? What about the post that is about to go live? Have we prepped the client enough? What happens when we have to face the music?

Being brave is no longer an option in communications management. Practitioners are now expected to navigate difficult conversations in open settings where honest dialogue is expected.

So, what is bravery in communications? It involves the willingness to speak openly, honestly, and vulnerably, even in the face of potential criticism, rejection, or conflict. It is about the courage to:

  • Express one's true thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
  • Address difficult or sensitive topics constructively and empathetically.
  • Stand up for one's beliefs and values while respecting others' perspectives.
  • Engage in active listening, even when hearing challenging or opposing viewpoints.
  • Foster an environment of trust and transparency, encouraging open dialogue.
  • Take responsibility for one's words and actions, and be open to feedback and growth.

What do you think, do you agree? Join me and other IPRS Members and let's talk bravery!

This is an IPRS Member's only and by-invitation event.
